    String description "The 95% percentile monthly values for significant wave height: 2007-2022 has been processed by Arpae Emilia-Romagna. The analysis was conducted by using Nausicaa buoy data, which is a floating scientific buoy that is anchored in a fixed location roughly 8 km off the coast of Cesenatico. The Emilia-Romagna region's wave motion detection system consists of a wave buoy (manufactured by the Dutch firm Datawell), a shore-based receiving station, and data storage and dissemination systems. The ondametric measurement system consists of a slope following buoy type and a corresponding station for real-time reception and processing of data sent by radio from the buoy. This system has the ability to measure the height of individual waves with an accuracy better than 0.10 meters or 3% of the height. Buoys in the Datawell Directional waverider family measure height through a single accelerometer. The sensitive axis of the accelerometer is vertical. The movement of the buoy and thus the waves is obtained after filtering the signal and double integration of the acceleration value. Through the use of this method, it was possible to obtain monthly 95% percentile significant wave height values from the buoy between 2007-2022.";

Using tabledap to Request Data and Graphs from Tabular Datasets

tabledap lets you request a data subset, a graph, or a map from a tabular dataset (for example, buoy data), via a specially formed URL. tabledap uses the OPeNDAP (external link) Data Access Protocol (DAP) (external link) and its selection constraints (external link).

The URL specifies what you want: the dataset, a description of the graph or the subset of the data, and the file type for the response.

Tabledap request URLs must be in the form
https://coastwatch.pfeg.noaa.gov/erddap/tabledap/datasetID.fileType{?query}
For example,
https://coastwatch.pfeg.noaa.gov/erddap/tabledap/pmelTaoDySst.htmlTable?longitude,latitude,time,station,wmo_platform_code,T_25&time>=2015-05-23T12:00:00Z&time<=2015-05-31T12:00:00Z
Thus, the query is often a comma-separated list of desired variable names, followed by a collection of constraints (e.g., variable<value), each preceded by '&' (which is interpreted as "AND").

For details, see the tabledap Documentation.
